Film openings analyzation

 I decided for this study of film animations to start with a film I've previously studied and then continue from there.

The Truman Show

The intro to The Truman Show starts like a documentary of the in world show history and why the creator of the show did what he did. I like this approach because it matches the style of the show in general and gives off the right vibes.

Dark knight

The opening scene starts right in the middle of a robbery start to end which really sets off the tone of the movie from the start. This approach is a simple but effective way to communicate the feel of the movie.

wolf of wall street

The intro to the wolf of wall street is a 4th wall break where he talks to the viewer about stuff he can do with money, drugs and more. This approach matches the tone of the movie in a whole and helped set the tone for the kind of movie it was to be.

Portfolio Schedule

 This is the schedule for my Portfolio project that im doing

First week:

Research different genres to use and consider along with finalizing what genre ill be doing.

Second week:

Ill research different openings and credit sequences area.

Third week:

Ill finalize my script, and ideas for the opening along my major inspirations

Forth week: 

Ill talk about charater development, mise-en-scnce and audio development

Fifth week: 

Thoughts for the making of my production logo, my production process and make up process if i use make up.

Sixth week:

 Ill talk about my editing and production process along with starting my CCR.

Seventh week:

Continue the CCR and the production behind it

Eighth week:

Finish off the CCR and talk about everything i did making it.

Portfolio Project #2

 My second idea was of an action/drama where the main character was a aspiring boxer but they have a physical disability that made it harder to do physical activity like boxing, running etc.

There are plenty of consequences for actions and reluctant heroes. Dirty and darker models and Close up Action and heavy realism. 

So like the last one i asked Ai to give me some of the Higher rated action movies and picked two to do a bit of research on them. The two that i choose were: 

The Gladiator

This is about a man named Maximus who was enslaved into the gladiator arena to fight for others entertainment. The cinematography and action in the film are amazing with historical references and more.

The Dark Knight

This is about Batman and a few others trying to restore order to Gotham just to have The Joker oppose the Batman and cause major issues. The movie just like The Gladiator is known for its action scenes and cinematography. With a darker tone in the film.

In the end i decided to go this route for it was easier and i already have a idea in mind for an intro.

Portfolio Project Genre #1

 For my first Genre I thought of doing a Drama/Comedy opening for an Angel disguised as an human which i knew was just as ambitious as it sounds and very difficult to manage but i had a few ideas.

So to start I used Ai to find Higher rated drama/comedies also known as Dramedies to research what they did right and it gave me plenty but I choose 2 to research a bit about 

These normally contain Flawed characters, Open ended plots, natural flowing humor, and realism. They also use tonal whiplash and and lingers after a joke to show the awkwardness after the joke. Along with Micro-Expressions. Along with scenes that you can make into clips without much context needed and other things like it

 The Truman Show: 

Now the first I looked at was The Truman Show. A movie where this insurance sales man named Truman Burbank lives his who life unknowingly as the main character of a reality show with everything and everyone in the town being fabricated or fake except for him. This movie is highly regarded for its creativity and  themes of media consumerism and manipulation. With amazing actors and cinematic work.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

 I looked at the The Wolf Of Wall Street. A movie of this man who gets corrupted by greed and makes a business empire. This movie is known for its fast paced humor and cultural strengths. However the movie hasn't aged that well.

In all I decided that I did not have the skill or actors to make a intro for a show of the Dramedy category.

Portfolio project

 Now I'm moving into the portfolio project to make a film opening for 2 minutes. I plan the make either a opening about a bullied aspiring boxer who has a eating disability or an angel disguised as a human living life as normal.

I plan to take things slow and thoroughly think through the project and what i end up doing though I'm likely going to go through with the aspiring boxer.
